Are there other conditions related to IBS?

Answered By Editor

Yes. Irritable Bowel Syndrome is closely related to other conditions like Gastroenteritis. This is a condition where the stomach and bowel linings become inflamed. It is believed that IBS develops after the occurrence of said condition.

In addition, it was also found out that about 60% of the people with IBS are suffering from another kind of syndrome called the Fibromyalgia Syndrome or FMS. This is a disorder located in the musculoskeletal system. Candidiasis is also a condition related to IBS.
