Will facial ulcers from a crohns flare leave permanent red marks?

Can you answer PENWESTERN’s question about IBS?:

I had a severe crohns attack and it landed in the roof of my mouth. The ulcers healed and left white blotches behind and my roof feels gooey and taste buds are affected. Will my taste ever return?

I also had three ulcers pop out on my face. They are gone but left faint red marks behind. It has been two weeks since they disappeared. I am applying hydrocortisone but it does not work.

Any idea if they will go away or how I can make the faint red marks disappear from my face?

    IBS Feedback: hiya,
face ulcers usually leave marks after they heal because they involve quite a few layers of skin, but they should not be permanent, rather they may just take a while to fade. Try a high concentration vitamin E cream or bio oil on the marks, twice a day until they fade. Probably don’t need the h/cortisone now. Use an antibacterial mouth wash like difflam or cepacol twice a day for the mouth, I have ulcers all the time too (so annoying!) I use difflam C mouth gargle and kenalog paste on the bigger ones and keep using the difflam after the ulcers are gone till my mouth starts to feel a bit more normal. Crohns is totally awful, because you get all these symptoms away from the actual problem area :( ……… good luck :) hope that helps a bit.
