IBS Feedback: If the major symptom is diarrhea, it is wise to stay away from laxative foods, such as fruits and fruit juices. Unprocessed bran, taken with plenty of liquid, may help relieve constipation. Often, a high fiber diet or a fiber dietary supplement may be recommended.Stay away from coffee, carbonated drinks, and alcohol. They can slow the passage of stool. So can refined foods such as chips, cookies, and white rice. Many people with IBS also have milk sugar, or lactose, intolerance. Your provider may ask you to avoid milk and all foods containing milk. If some or all of your symptoms disappear, it may be helpful to stay away from milk products for good.
Have you been to the doctor yet? They can put you on medication to help with the IBS and constipation and can also find a diet that will work with your IBS.
IBS Feedback: Carrots, bannanas, and I think Green Beans actually cause constipation. Any greasy foods may have a reverse effect because your system is overworking itself to try and compensate.
